Old fashioned service that stands in today's world. Careful consideration by Nigel of what we brought in and fair price paid. What's not to like? And no, Nigel and I are not related.

Never bought items like this before, bought a couple of gifts on-line, telephoned them and arranged collection from the store. A real gold mine.

Excellent service from PH. The item was sent out on the next available delivery date and received one day later. I did speak to the owner prior who was most helpful and would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

I emailed a general enquiry in the early hours of Monday morning. Following a short exchange of emails I was offered very fair prices, we agreed the sale of some of my coins to be sent by post and by Tuesday the money was in my bank account. Nigel was extremely helpful and can’t be faulted for efficiency.

Nigel and the team offer very fair and competitive prices when buying gold, and their selling prices are genuinely some of the best I’ve come across. Everything is explained clearly, with no pressure and complete transparency. What really makes the difference though is the people — they’re friendly, warm, and genuinely lovely to deal with. You don’t feel like “just another customer”; they take the time to build a proper relationship and make you feel comfortable asking questions. It’s rare to find a business that combines excellent pricing with such personal service. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to buy or sell gold. Sam & Marie

I have just popped in to see Nigel to sell my gold and silver. I had a warm welcome and mad to feel comfortable. Nigel examined the pieces and quoted me a very good price. Great deal done. Thanks again. 5 star all the way.

Louise Gardiner

Visited Philatelic Heritage today, expecting to book an appointment to have coins valued. Nigel was warm and charming and was happy to see me there and then! Fair price, friendly and hassle free! Not knowing what to expect as this was definitely not something I have had experience with, him and Ruby made the transaction easy and simple! Thanks so much guys!

Very easy to deal with. I popped into the Coin & Stamp Centre in Hungerford with a piece of jewellery and was paid a good cash price there and then.

Response from the owner

Hi Steve Thank you so much for bringing in your item of jewellery - I'm delighted that we were able to do a deal and that you were happy with the price we paid you

Katie Nyunt

I recently had the pleasure of dealing with Nigel and his wife on two separate visits, and I can’t speak highly enough of the service I received. From the very beginning, communication was prompt, professional, and refreshingly pleasant. Nigel was especially considerate in offering to first review photos of my coin collection via WhatsApp ensuring it was worth my travel which I greatly appreciated. Both Nigel and his wife were not only welcoming and patient but also impressively knowledgeable and informative. Their expertise was evident, and they took the time to explain details clearly and honestly, which gave me full confidence in the valuation and selling process. The entire experience was efficient, transparent, and fair. I would not hesitate to recommend Hungerford Philatelic Coins to anyone looking to buy or sell coins or related collectibles. It’s rare to come across genuine professionalism paired with a warm and courteous approach.

Thank you so much for you marvellous 5 star review which is very much appreciated by me and the team. It was an absolute pleasure doing business with you and we look forward to assisting you again in the future

david dinges

Visited this place today with a mixture of coins and no knowledge of their worth. Was informed as to what they were and their value. Left the establishment a lot wealthier than I arrived and more educated. A very helpful gentleman.

Thank you so much for your wonderful 5 star review I am delighted we were able to conclude a deal and that you were pleased with the outcome - your coins will find a home with new collectors who will cherish them

Great little shop on high street in Hungerford. Normally i buy gold and silver online but after yesterday's experience never again. Nigel was very helpful and knowledgeable, gave me great price and for sure will be back soon. I will recommend this shop.

Mandy Bell

After driving myself 'mad' trying to find prices for coins on line, that varied so much, I emailed Friday for help, Nigel replied very quickly. He was able to see me Saturday (the day after) and I felt I received a good price for the coins/medals I needed to sell. Nigel was very knowledgeable and honest. I thought I had 2 x half sovereigns in amongst the coins, he immediately told me they were full sovereigns. He didn't need to, I would have been none the wiser.

terry tibbs

An absolute pleasure doing business with Nigel at Philatelicheritage. Painless and efficient, and the money arrived when he said it would. Will certainly be my first call when I next sell any precious metals.

Having a collection of stamps and coins to sell, I arranged a visit to Philatelic Heritage. They were very friendly, quickly assessed what I brought in and offered me , what I considered, a fair price for everything. A pleasure to do business with.

Oliver Rutson

My Friend and I had 2 coins which we had been trying to sell for a few months. All dealers and auction houses would faf around, saying it would take months to have a buyer and eventually receive payment. Nigel on the other hand, a very friendly man and a straight shooter, gave us a very desirable offer for the coins and we had money in our accounts before we even left the shop! Very very nice and professional experience with you Nigel and we hope to come back for more.

Foreign Matt

Possibly the most streamlined buying/selling service I've ever encountered. I came in to sell some generic gold/silver coins, I was in and out within 15 minutes or less. Nigel is very committed to the business and gave me very competitive rates on bullion, not to mention how responsive he is to email and phone. Definitely a shining example of how a shop of any kind is meant to be run. Thank you, once again.

Debi Richens

We popped into Hungerford today to sell a couple of items that were no longer wanted. We hadn't been in Philatelic Heritage before, so thought we would visit. Nigel was very helpful, quickly assessed and was happy to purchase our items. He has some great coin sets, and there are also some lovely hand painted art pieces for sale. Worth a visit!

Bob Leitch

Honestly one of the best coin shops out there, they have coins in these bargain buckets ranging from like £1 to £5 and it's worth it for most, any of like the proof sets or special 50p's are all in the cabinets.

David Hewitt

I write this review in recommendation. Over the past couple of years I have received an exceptional level of service from Nigel at Philatelic Heritage both as a buying and selling customer and ranging across stamps, coins and precious metals. The high level of knowledge and personal integrity is second to none and frankly they always seem to be the best value if either buying or selling which nowadays is a combination not seen very often (as usual you trade price/value against knowledge and service) so well done. Now I can confidently state I now I don’t even shop around, I enjoy dealing with Nigel as a person and he always comes up trumps. First class!!!

Wendy Allott
