A 2016 UK £2 coin issued by The Royal Mint to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare, one of Britain’s most celebrated playwrights.
The reverse features a jester’s cap and bells, representing the humour, wit and theatrical entertainment found throughout Shakespeare’s comedy plays. The edge inscription reads “ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE”, a famous quotation from As You Like It.
