  • The two guineas was valued at 43 shillings (£23s) between 1698 and 1717, when it was devalued to 42 shillings (£2 2s). These coins were struck at 22 1/4 to the pound troy, giving a standard weight of 48/89 troy ounce (258.9 grains)
