A 2007 UK £2 coin issued by The Royal Mint to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Act of Union between England and Scotland in 1707.
The reverse divides the coin into four quarters featuring a rose, a thistle and two portcullises, overlaid with a linking jigsaw-piece design to symbolise the union of the two countries. The edge inscription reads “UNITED INTO ONE KINGDOM”.
An interesting commemorative issue marking an important event in British history and a great addition to a collection of modern UK £2 coins.
