The 1887 Queen Victoria Jubilee Head Shield Gold Half Sovereign is a desirable Victorian gold issue struck during the Golden Jubilee year of Queen Victoria. Produced in 22 carat gold by The Royal Mint, this coin forms part of the first year of the Jubilee Head coinage.
The obverse features the distinctive Jubilee Head (JH) portrait of Queen Victoria, wearing a small crown and veil, while the reverse displays the traditional crowned shield design, commonly referred to as the Shield Back type.
